We are actively involved in:
Latino Heritage Month
For more than 30 years, the United States has annually celebrated the rich history and cultural traditions of our Nation's Hispanic American people.
National Hispanic Heritage Month provides us an opportunity to express deep appreciation to Hispanic Americans for their countless contributions to our society and to pay tribute to America's distinctive diversity.
MSU provides an opportunity for Bryant University to participate in this rich tradition and offer students, faculty, and administrators the opportunity to take part in the many planned festivities for the month beginning September 15 and concluding October 15.
Black History Month
Americans have recognized black history annually since 1926, first as "Negro History Week" and later as "Black History Month."
Black History Month activities are inspired by an appreciation and respect for African-American culture that is celebrated by students, faculty, and staff through a variety of media. Sponsors include the ICC, MSU, and ISO. In times past, activities have included a community service project with RI youth, a National Read-In, and the grand finale called Extravaganza.
Asian Pacific Awareness Month
The Asian American Alliance (part of MSU) and Asian-American students at Bryant University plan activities and events to center on their cultural perspective. This event highlights the diversity of Asian cultures with food as well as featuring speakers, cultural performances, and professional entertainers.
Like most of our events, activities for Asian Pacific Awareness Month are free and open to the public unless noted otherwise. APA Month is usually held in April. The aim of the month is both to increase campus awareness of Asian American concerns, and to celebrate the diversity of the cultures and traditions of Asian Americans on campus.
